Breast lifting is performed to compensate for the loss of breast tissue deep to the skin as a result of pregnancy & breast feeding &/or aging. The skin envelope of the breast remains the same but the underlying breast tissue disappears resulting in a saggy breast.
If a lift is done on its own then a smaller , though non-saggy, breast will result. This is why Professor Moore will usually advise that the lift procedure be combined with a breast implant to provide more bulk & restore breast size . The two components may be done separately or in combination & which method used will depend on the individual patients requirements & the status of her breast tissues.
